Single Origin Coffees are coffees that are sourced directly from a single estate or farm, from one country. Every Origin Coffee has its own signature note - for example Indonesian coffee is known for its smooth and heavy liquor. Kenyan and most African coffees are thinner in texture, with a fruity and drier aftertaste. Central American coffees are very often used as the base coffees in most Blends, as they are extremely smooth and rounded in flavour.
Some Origin Coffees have very special characteristics, such as Jamaica Blue Mountain, Kona Hawaii, Yemeni Matari and Australian Skybury. These coffees also have a rarity value, which makes them much higher in price. In particular we would note Kopi Luwak from Vietnam, due to its most unusual characteristics! These super premium coffees can be found in our Gold Collection.
Brewing Guide
As a guide, our Single Origin Coffees with a strength/roast profile of 2 are particularly suitable for Filter and Cafetiere brewing methods.
Those coffees with a strength/roast profile of 4 or more we consider the flavours are best brought out by brewing using Bean-To-Cup Machines, Electric Espresso Machines and Moka Pots / Stove Top Espresso Pots.
Those coffees with a strength/roast profile of 3 we would consider suitable for most brewing methods.
We offer generous discounts if you order 2 or more 500g packs of coffee. This can be a mix of different coffees (excludes Gold Collection coffees).
